IE STAGE 3 DEVELOPMENT GOLF R RUNS 10.9!

It's no secret that IE has been busy at work pushing new and exciting development for the MQB VW MK7 and Audi 8V platforms with exciting announcements of our TrueFlex ethanol tunes and upcoming Stage 3 Garrett PowerMax GT2260S turbo support. After thousands of dyno pulls, countless miles of road testing, and gigabytes of log data its time for track testing. The timing couldn't be better for drag conditions, so our calibration team loaded up our development Golf R and headed to sunny California.

Armed with IE hardware, Garrett's new PowerMax GT2260S (Stage 1) turbo, and IE's beta GT2260S TrueFlex ethanol tune the blue MK7 Golf R soared down the track, setting an impressive 10.937 at 124.60 MPH!

Needless to say, breaking into the high 10s on a development file is very promising results for the future of both our Stage 3 GT2260S and TrueFlex ethanol calibrations. That magical 10-second number is even more impressive as this was accomplished with all IE shelf bolt-on parts, sticky tires, and minimal weight reduction that anyone can do! NOT JUST A RACE CAR

Our development Golf R is not a track-only race car, it is an everyday street car and still sporting the factory stock engine from 2015. These are repeatable results for customers looking for an easy and reliable upgrade over the stock turbo that delivers amazing street performance, yet is still competitive on the track. In fact, this same Golf R on an earlier tune revision put out a 1/4 mile Draggy of 11.23 at 122 MPH on snow tires!

AUDI A3 STAGE 2 TRUEFLEX RESULTS

Our Golf R wasn't the only MQB on the track, IE customer Javier Reyes brought his daily driver Audi A3 down to put our Stage 2 TrueFlex tune to the test. Javier succeeded by turning out an impressive 11.69 at 116.99 MPH! This is not just a notable time, but possibly the stock turbo IS20 Audi A3 quarter-mile (official drag slip) record! -Congrats Javier!

We did lend our lightweight wheels and drag radials to Javier for some passes, however, his record time was set on his stock wheels. This means his exciting 11.69 time was set on his stock suspension everyday setup with minimal weight reduction! This marks a fantastic baseline for our A3 & GTI TrueFlex Tunes with plenty of room to improve on these times.

SUCCESFULL TESTING

The race conditions couldn't have been better, and the results of both our pre-release Stage 3 Golf R/S3 Stage 3 and existing A3/GTI Stage 2 TrueFlex tunes on the track are exciting to see with plenty of potential to go even faster!
