IE RACE SPEC

This IE Race Spec Stroker Kit is designed to strict IE specifications used in all high-horsepower IE race engine builds. Included components have been performance matched to work in harmony and strenuously tested for long term reliability and peak power. Kit includes IE Tuscan I beam connecting rods tested to 1000HP and IE Spec JE forged pistons featuring Tuff Skirt and Thermal Barrier Dome piston coatings. Further upgrades such as reinforced ring landings and tool steel wrist pins are standard in this kit to handle demanding race and high powered applicaitons.

 

WHAT IS A STROKER KIT?

IE's stroker kits up the displacement by increasing the stroke and bore of the engine. The increased stroke from our 2.0L kit is accomplished by using a larger 92.8mm stroke crankshaft. Specialty designed pistons are used to increase the bore size to 83mm, these stroker pistons feature proper wristpin locations, skirt design, and valve reliefs to properly function with a 144X22 connecting rod and 2.0L crankshaft in a 1.8T 06A engine. This stroker kit results in a 2008cc engine that yields more horsepower and torque on the same boost pressure, less chance of detonation due to lower peak cylinder pressures, faster spool, and produces more power on low octane fuel.

REQUIRES MACHINE WORK

Installing a stroker engine kit requires machine work and critical dimension measurements during engine assembly, this work should be performed by a certified engine technician. In order to achieve a 2.0L displacement and install stroker pistons, boring and honing of the cylinder walls is required.

OE "Basic" Bearings

These OE replacement bearings are the inexpensive direct fit choice for re-refreshing your bottom end with new bearing hardware.

Calico Coated Performance Bearings

The base bearing shells feature a hardened steel backing with increased bearing crush for better bearing shell retention, making them far less likely to spin. Increased ovality compensates for distortion at high rpm levels, and the bearing design features a high strength overlay plate for maximum fatigue resistance. All of this is followed by the professionally applied Calico coating, giving a truly high performance bearing for even the most extreme applications.

Mahle Motorsport Performance Bearings

Mahle Motorsport/Vandervell manufactures the highest quality race bearings available. This bearing technology has been proven time and time again utilized in F1 applications and many other extreme and demanding race engines. Featuring incredible wear characteristics and very high durability. Proprietary tri-metal blend is employed to provide a stiffer bearing under high load use, which is necessary for demanding race engines. Each bearing is designed with state-of-the-art software for the ideal oil film thickness, which adds reliability and greatly reduces the chance of spinning a bearing.
