HOW TO INSTALL YOUR TUNE

IE offers two options to deliver the software to your TTS. Read below to explore each option and choose the best that meets your needs. 

IE PowerLINK V2
The Integrated Engineering PowerLINK V2 tuning cable allows easy ECU programming from the comfort of your garage. This OBD plug-in device is easy-to-use with a Windows powered laptop to read and write files from your ECU.  With the ability to flash multiple files, you can easily recalibrate the ECU for different octane settings or boost levels. The PowerLINK V2 cable is also capable of reading and clearing diagnostic codes as well as allowing the car to be flashed back to stock with the stock file that it pulls from the ECU on the first read.  

Adding this cable allows total control over your ECU’s engine calibration. You will be able to quickly (5-10 minutes) switch between calibrations. These are not partial calibrations changing just a few settings, but rather complete calibrations for each octane / boost. It also allows further collaboration updates from IE, as files can be exchanged via the internet, rather then relying on a 3rd party installation shop. (IE PowerLink is an additional $74.99 if purchased with software, regular price is $149.99)

Mail-in service
When choosing our mail-in service to upgrade the software, we require your ECU to be sent in for bench flashing. This process will be completed in less than 24 hours and then shipped back out to you. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns concerning the flashing procedure for your specific vehicle. 

Mail-in service process overview:

  • Call customer service to place your order
  • Package your ECU carefully and use the shipping speed of your choice (IE is not responsible for damgaed ECUs during shipping)
  • Once received, the ECU will be bench flashed within 24 hours and returned via customers shipping speed of choice

IE TTS STAGE 1 TUNE
The IE Stage 1 TTS performance flash delivers an aggressive power upgrade without having to install any hardware modifications, keeping all OE systems installed. With plenty of additional power now available instantaneously, the vehilcle will be much more enjoyabel to drive with a masisve boost in performance. With no additional supporting modifications, power output is increased to 345ft/lbs and 290WHP on 91/93 octane and boost is increased to 22.5psi.

IE Stage 2 MK2 / 8J TTS perfomance flashes are designed for customers looking to maximize the performance of the factory engine internals and turbochargers. IE Stage 2 sofware fine tunes the ECU calibration to match installed aftermarket hardware.  Stage 2 results deliver massive power gains across the powerband, fully realizing the engines potential. With required supporting modifications, power output is increased to 397ft/lbs and 316WHP on 91/93 octane and boost is increased to 28-30psi.

IE engineers have fully optimized every aspect of the factory ECU mapping, this produces a tune that retains all factory like driving and safety protocols when needed, and an intense surge of power when you want it.

Dyno Optimized

DYNOMETER OPTIMIZED
After completely reverse engineering the factory ECU, our engineers use our in-house Dynapack DP42 dynamometer to perform repeated runs to test each change that is made to the software and confirm drivability in any situation.

Removed Speed Limiter

REMOVED SPEED LIMITER
The factory ECU speed limiter has been removed to make sure the increased power and torque can be used to its full potential on straightaways and drag strips.

Increased Rev Limit

INCREASED REV LIMIT
With the significant power increase, the rev limiter is also increased to allow a wider powerband on all IE MK2 / 8J TTS files. By increasing the rev limit, you gain a perfect match for the increased performance available from your new IE perfomance software tune.

Improved Throttle Response

IMPROVED THROTTLE RESPONSE
To further increase the responsive feel of the car, IE engineers have carefully adjusted the throttle sensitivity. This offers a more connected feeling to your car with plenty of power available right beneath your foot.

Optimized Fueling

OPTIMIZED FUELING
MK2 / 8J TTS files have been adjusted to run as economically as possible, dialing in air/fuel ratios to exactly where they need to be. With an IE performance ECU flash, it is common to see increased fuel economy under cruising and part-throttle driving.

The Integrated Engineering PowerLINK V2 direct port tuning cable allows easy ECU programming from the comfort of your garage. This OBD plug-in device is easy to use with and Windows powered laptop to read and write files from your ECU.  With the ability to flash multiple files, you can easily recalibrate the ECU for different octane settings or boost levels (for example, switching between 100 octane or 93 octane files). The PowerLINK V2 cable is also capable of reading and clearing diagnostic codes as well as allowing the car to be flashed back to stock with the stock file that it pulls from the ECU on the first read.  IE PowerLINK V2 tuning cable is available at a discount rate of 74.99 if purchased with an IE software file, originally 149.99

IE ecu remap for mk2 TTS
I have had many tunes in my experiences with Vw. I had Eurodyne and Giac on my mk7 GTI and a customizable piggy back on my mk7 Golf R. All tunes were different in some ways. Eurodyne was torquey, Giac was smooth and had better top end power but seemed to be lacking over all. The burger motorsports jb1/4 was nice to be able to customize to my own liking but a piggy back is not nearly as complex or as beneficial as an ecu remap. All had there advantages but non compared to my IE tune on my TTS.
IE stage 1:
Much more torque/power over stock
More sensitive gas pedal
Better gas mileage
Speed limiter removed (I track my car often so this feature was a must)
Better powerband over stock

Due to the higher sensitivity in the gas pedal I increased my fuel mileage efficiency as I didn't need to press nearly as hard on the gas to get up to speed. It's easy to feather and modulate at the track and you find yourself smiling as you push harder. I was significantly impressed by how significant the power and torque gains were after flashing. After taking the car to my local road course completely stock I flashed the car to IE stage 1 and returned. Without any other changes and in very similar conditions I improved my times by 3 seconds consistently.
Around town the car can be a little jumpy as it just begs to be pushed harder but with a little getting used to the sensitivity it seems to calm down. The car could benefit from a DSG tune but it's no reason to hold back from getting the ecu tune.
I am utterly impressed with the remap from IE. Now I'm very much looking forward to stage 2 with all of their other hardware. With the R&D IE puts into their products there's no reason to look anywhere else. Judging by the quality of their tune I would imagine and will test that their hardware is of the highest quality as well.
