447AWHP R32 Beast!

 Nick Larson is a good friend to us here at Integrated Engineering, and no stranger to the VW scene.  Nick has a talent for building MK4 hatchbacks it seems, his previous big turbo 1.8T project set the bar for many other GTI owners and many thought it could not be topped.  They were wrong.

This R32 at first glance looks a tad bit settle and understated, but look deeper and you fine beauty is in the details.  Dig deeper beyond the surface and you will find a wire tucked bay, hidden coolant and washer bottles, battery relocation, airbag suspension, and a handful of Integrated Engineering parts.

When Nick first received the car, like a real motor head he wasted no time jumping into the engine bay.  Among his first modifications he added a Precision PT6162 DBB Turbo, Pag Parts exhaust manifold, Sleepers intake manifold, boost friendly 9:1 CR head spacer, along with supporting modifications and fueled by a Bosch 044 pump.

Some time after the initial turbo build, Nick started noticing a lack of performance "I went to the track and my car felt like it was breaking up a bit under full boost" he explained.  Soon after Nick found out why, "I decided to investigate what was causing the smoke. Turns out cyl 5 had a broken piston".

A broken piston was not enough to keep this car out for long.  Not soon after, the block received some machine work, a set of JE 84.5mm pistons, and then Nick became one of the lucky first few to run a new set of unreleased Integrated Engineering Tuscan I-Beam Connecting Rods.  "The new block will be fitted with some brand new Integrated Engineering Tuscan rods for the VR6, the 1.8T versions have been pushed to ~800 who imagine the potential with two extra rods".

It was not long before Nick put the new rods to the test, during a local VAG car show.  Nick took first place and put down the highest Dyno number of the competing contestants with an amazing 447AWHP.  Thats very impressive, but we think Nicks is capable of even more!

Power is not all this beauty is hiding and although it would be enough for some, Nick has succeeding in raising the bar beyond raw speed, and added killer looks to this R.  Along with his custom airbag suspension, this car features a shaved rear bumper and hatch, shaved hood notch, and Bonrath grill all adding up to a clean updated OEM R32 look.

We don't know what Nick has in store for this excellent example of a R32, but one thing we do know is it will be nothing but top notch work that turn heads and move like lightening.  We have come to expect nothing but the best and innovative originality from Nick Larson's project cars.  Check below for a complete list of modifications.
